A Split King normally combines two Twin XL mattresses on two adjustable bases. A careful setup keeps both sides aligned while preserving the movement allowed by the chosen accessories.

1. Confirm the mattress size

Measure each mattress from head to foot. Twin XL mattresses are normally about 80 inches long. Two standard 75-inch Twin mattresses require a different bridge length and do not form the usual Split King dimensions.

2. Align the bases and mattresses

Place the bases side by side on a level floor. Match the head and foot positions, then center each mattress on its base. Correct large height differences before adding a bridge.

3. Choose how the sides will move

If both sides remain flat or move together, a surrounding strap can help hold the pair. If each side must move independently, use a fitted system designed for Split King movement. Test slowly and stop if fabric, foam or straps pull.

4. Install the center bridge

Place the foam insert evenly in the gap. For a strap system, route the strap according to the instructions and tighten it evenly without compressing the mattress edges. For a fitted system, stretch the corners over both mattresses and smooth the center channel.

5. Recheck after use

Operate each adjustable side slowly through its normal range. Recheck alignment, center feel and tension after the first nights and after laundering.

Care and safety

Follow the product care label and the bed or chair manufacturer’s instructions. Keep foam components dry, allow washable covers to dry fully, and stop use if any component pulls, shifts or interferes with moving furniture.
