A fitted bed bridge contains different components, and they should not automatically be washed together. Check the care label and product instructions before cleaning.

Separate the components

Remove the fitted textile layer from the bed. Take out any foam bridge or removable insert if the product design allows it. Detach or loosen separate straps. Foam components are generally handled differently from washable fabric, so do not place them in the washer unless the product instructions expressly allow it.

Wash the fabric according to its label

Close fasteners that could catch, avoid overloading the machine, and use the temperature and cycle stated on the sewn-in label. Harsh bleach, high heat, and aggressive cycles can shorten the life of elastic edges and fitted corners.

Dry completely before reinstalling

Follow the label’s drying instructions. Make sure the fitted layer and any spot-cleaned components are fully dry. Reinstalling damp parts can trap moisture between the mattresses.

Reassemble in the correct order

  1. Align the two mattresses.
  2. Center the foam bridge or insert over the seam.
  3. Fit the textile layer evenly over both mattresses.
  4. Add the stabilizing strap if your model includes one.
  5. Check the position again after the first night.

Do not treat this as a universal wash instruction; the product care label remains the controlling source. For help identifying your system, see the fitted sheet vs mattress protector comparison.
